Sometimes we lefties gets too comfortable in the idea that “we’re the party of science!” and start to assume that just because we believe something, that makes it science-based. Many on the Left deride the Right for being stupidly anti-science due to climate change denial, while simultaneously holding beliefs quite distinct from the scientific community as it pertains to issues like GMOs. We must keep in mind that science is a method of inquiry, not a fixed set of ideas. “Breastmilk is massively better for babies” is a claim, and claims must be supported by evidence. To be pro-science, the march for science FB should have responded with counter-evidence and counter-claims rather than blocking.
